Tambuwal Condoles with Kano over Death of Sports Contingent
Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has expressed profound grief over the tragic loss of members of the Kano State contingent who died in a fatal road accident while returning from the National Sports Festival.
In a condolence message issued by his media office, the former Governor of Sokoto State extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Government of Kano State, the State Sports Commission, and the good people of Kano.
“These were young, vibrant Nigerians who gave their all in service to sport and state,” the Senator stated. “May Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive their shortcomings, grant them Jannatul Firdaus, and comfort all who mourn this painful loss.”
According to a report confirmed by the Kano State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Mustapha Kwankwaso, the tragic incident occurred about 50 kilometres from Kano as the contingent was returning from the festival.
The unfortunate loss has cast a pall over what was meant to be a celebration of national unity and sporting excellence.
