Eid al-Adha: Abimboye Felicitates Muslims

As Muslims across the globe mark the sacred festival of Eid al-Adha, a leading political figure in Ayedaade Local Government Area, Hon. Abimboye Michael Babatunde Omo Ajonbadi, has extended warm greetings to the Muslim faithful, urging unity, prayers for peace, and continued support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration.

In a goodwill message commemorating the festival, Hon. Ajonbadi described Eid al-Adha—also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice”—as a profound reminder of obedience, devotion, and unwavering faith in Almighty Allah, exemplified in the historic sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS). He called on Muslims to use the period for sober reflection, acts of charity, and renewed commitment to the values of compassion, tolerance, and communal support.

“The occasion of Eid al-Adha is not only sacred but also symbolic,” he said. “It calls us to reflect on our duty to God and to humanity. It is a time to spread love and give generously to those in need, in the true spirit of Islam.”

Quoting a Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) on the virtues of sacrifice, Hon. Ajonbadi encouraged Muslims to partake in the ritual with sincerity and a heart full of gratitude.

He also urged the Muslim community to offer prayers for lasting peace and development in Ayedaade, Osun State, and the nation at large.

Hon. Ajonbadi used the opportunity to commend Governor Ademola Adeleke for what he described as “people-driven and inclusive leadership” that has transformed Osun State. According to him, the governor’s focus on grassroots development, infrastructure renewal, and social welfare has rekindled public confidence in democratic governance.

“As we approach another political season, we must not relent,” he said. “Governor Adeleke’s leadership is deserving of continuity, and I call on all residents of Ayedaade and loyal PDP members to stand united in support of his second-term bid and the larger mission of the party.”

He reiterated the need for collective resolve and political harmony as the PDP prepares for the 2026 general elections, stressing that unity remains the bedrock for sustainable progress.

“With faith, unity, and a shared vision, we can build a more prosperous Ayedaade and a stronger Osun State,” Hon. Ajonbadi added.

The statement concluded with a prayer for a joyful and peaceful Eid celebration for all Muslim families and communities across Nigeria.
