Journalist and political communications expert, Michael Abimboye, has congratulated veteran journalist and publisher Dele Momodu, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and Hon. Abdussamad Dasuki on their appointments to strategic positions in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Abimboye described the appointments as significant additions to the campaign structure, noting that the three men bring different but complementary experiences to the task ahead.
He said Momodu’s decades of journalism, publishing and political communication experience would be valuable in shaping the campaign’s public message and engaging Nigerians across traditional and digital media platforms.
According to him, Tambuwal brings considerable legislative and executive experience, extensive political networks and a deep understanding of presidential campaign organisation, having previously served as Director-General of Atiku Abubakar’s 2023 presidential campaign.
Abimboye also highlighted Dasuki’s legislative and executive background, describing his participation in the campaign as an opportunity to further strengthen the ADC’s engagement with younger political actors and constituencies, particularly in the North West.
“These are appointments that reflect experience, capacity and political relevance at a critical moment in Nigeria’s political history,” Abimboye said.

He added that the 2027 presidential contest would require more than political rhetoric, stressing the importance of effective communication, organisation, grassroots mobilisation and the ability to build confidence across Nigeria’s diverse political constituencies.
“Dele Momodu brings the communications experience. Tambuwal brings deep political and institutional experience, while Dasuki represents a younger generation of political leadership with legislative and executive exposure.
“The strength of these appointments will ultimately depend on how effectively their individual capacities are deployed towards a coherent national campaign,” he said.
Abimboye expressed confidence that the trio would make meaningful contributions to the ADC’s presidential campaign and the broader political coalition supporting Atiku Abubakar.
He wished the three appointees success in their respective assignments, saying the responsibility before them was substantial as political parties and candidates begin preparations for the 2027 presidential election.
“2027 will demand serious politics. The work has begun,” he said.
