Why CAF Banned Central African Republic From Playing Nigeria In Their Country
In place of their own country, the Central African Republic will host Nigeria in a World Cup qualifier in Douala, Cameroon.
This is due to a standing order by the African Football Confederation (CAF).
Eight countries were forbidden from holding World Cup qualifiers by CAF in August of this year.
Mali, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Djibouti, Guinea-Bissau, Malawi, Namibia, and Niger are the countries involved.
Following the failure of the countries’ venue inspections by the CAF, the decision was made.
Instead, they will play their home games on a neutral field.
