Tambuwal Decries Killing of Hunters in Edo, Demands Justice

Former Sokoto State Governor, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has strongly condemned the recent killing of hunters in Edo State, describing the incident as both shocking and deeply distressing.

In a statement posted on his official X handle, Tambuwal expressed profound sorrow over the tragic loss of lives, extending heartfelt condolences to the grieving families. “My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims during this deeply painful time. No community should have to endure such a tragic loss,” he stated.

Calling for urgent action, Tambuwal urged security agencies and relevant authorities to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the killings. He stressed that justice must be swift and uncompromising. “This is a critical moment that demands firm and deliberate action. Those responsible must be held accountable to send a clear message that impunity will not be tolerated,” he declared.

He further underscored the need to uphold the sanctity of human life and strengthen the rule of law, warning that acts of jungle justice undermine public trust and threaten the stability of democracy.

“As leaders, we bear the responsibility of protecting human life and reinforcing the rule of law. When impunity prevails, trust in the system is eroded, weakening the very fabric of our democracy,” Tambuwal stated.

Concluding his remarks, he called for collective efforts to restore public confidence in the justice system, emphasizing the need for justice to be both swift and transparent. “We must work together to ensure that justice is not just a promise but a reality—delivered fairly and without delay,” he urged.
