Tambuwal Celebrates Tunde Ogbeha, Hails His Lifetime of Service and Leadership
Former Governor of Sokoto State and Senator representing Sokoto South, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has congratulated Distinguished Senator Brigadier General Jonathan Tunde Ogbeha (Rtd.), CON, the Lakpini of Lokoja, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a gentleman soldier, patriot and respected statesman.
In a message posted on X, Tambuwal said General Ogbeha’s life had been defined by distinguished service, courage, discipline and an abiding commitment to Nigeria.
He noted that Ogbeha had served the country in several capacities, including in the Nigerian Army, as a Military Governor, diplomat and Senator of the Federal Republic, consistently demonstrating dedication to duty and national service.
Tambuwal also recalled his personal and political relationship with the retired general, particularly during his bid for the presidential nomination of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2022.
“In 2022, when I sought the presidential nomination of our party, I entrusted him with the responsibility of chairing my Presidential Campaign Council. He discharged that responsibility with characteristic commitment, candour and strategic depth, providing invaluable leadership and counsel throughout that journey,” Tambuwal said.
He described Ogbeha as a mentor and bridge-builder whose wealth of experience, courage of conviction and political insight continue to enrich national discourse.

According to Tambuwal, the celebrant’s contributions to leadership, governance and nation-building remain worthy of recognition and appreciation, stressing that his life exemplifies leadership anchored on service and positive impact.
“As he marks another year today, I celebrate a gentleman soldier, patriot and statesman whose journey reminds us that the true measure of leadership lies not merely in the positions we occupy, but in the lives we touch and the service we render,” he added.
Tambuwal prayed for Almighty God to grant General Ogbeha many more years in good health, strength, wisdom and fulfilment, while continuing to bless and preserve him and his family.
