Rights Group Petitions Oyo CP Over Alleged Attempt By Police Officer To Murder Member
The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Ngozi Onadeko, has been petitioned by the Veteran Organization for Human Rights (VOHRI) over an alleged attempt by a police officer to kill one of its members.
The group alleged that one Sergeant Otunla of Ogunpa police post in Ibadan made an attempt to kill one of its members, Mr. Tunde Badmus on 23rd of September this year.
The alleged attempt follows the harassment of an Ibadan based journalist, Mr. Tony Awobode who was allegedly harassed and beaten by a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Ibadan.
DAILY POST gathered that Awobode who doubled as General Manager of JAMZ 100.1FM, Ibadan, was beaten to stupor by DPO of Iyaganku and his men last weekend.
The group in a petition addressed to the CP alleged that Otunla subjected Badmus to psychological torture, inhuman, and degrading treatment, describing their action as unconstitutional.
“He became nervous, emotional and highly temperamental as they held his tie, dragged his suit, pushed him to the wall and instructed him to leave his office threatening to shoot him or put him in a cell”.
Exposed!! Popular Abuja doctor revealed how men can naturally and permanently cure poor erection, quick ejaculation, small and shameful manhood without side effects. Even if you are hypertensive or diabetic . Stop the use of hard drugs for sex!! It kills!
The group called for disciplinary action against the officer by police authorities.
“This action should be described as illegal, undemocratic, unconstitutional, unlawful and total abuse of office on Comrade Badmus Tunde
“We call on to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Deputy Inspector General of Police, (DIGP), the Assistant Inspector General of Police, (AIGP), the Commissioner of Police, (CP), Chairman Police Service Commission (PSC), National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and others, to report the highest level of impunity of officer Otunla and the 2IC attached to Iyaganku Police out Post for failing to act on the core mandate of the Police Officer.
“VOHRI hereby strongly condemns the idiosyncratic tendency of the nonsensical constabulary mentality of these aforementioned lawless Police officers and their station’s gross violation of people’s fundamental rights.
Pubic Relations Officer of the State Police Command Mr Adewale Osifeso when contacted said he would get back to our reporter.
He added that he was waiting for a response from the CP before he can make an official statement on the matter.
