Lagos’ll Be Free Of Flood, Says Sanwo-Olu
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State told citizens Monday that his administration is committed to keeping the state flood-free all year.
Sanwo-Olu made the remarks while commissioning the second batch of 19 high-capacity drainage clearance and maintenance equipment.
Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tunji Bello, stated at the occasion, which took place at the EFAG Yard in Oregun, that Lagos would never again be characterized as a flood-ravaged city.
Because of its coastal location, he highlighted that the state would always be one step ahead in terms of preparations for the rainy season and its aftermath.
The governor noted that the governor’s new tipping trucks had addressed issues about silts not being removed from drains in a timely manner.
Sanwo-Olu stated that the equipment and trucks are the second batch to be procured, but that more will be delivered in the future.
