ICPC Grills Kosofe LG Chairman, Ogunlewe, Over Alleged Multi-Billion Naira Corruption Scandal

….The anti-graft agency also grilled six council supervisors

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has interrogated the Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe, over allegations of misappropriating billions of naira, SaharaReporters has learned.

The anti-graft agency also grilled six council supervisors, including Olorunfunmi Timothy Adekunle (Environment), Elugbidin Abayomi Benjamin (Health), Saka Kehinde Ademolu (Agriculture), David Gbenga Samuel (Chieftaincy Affairs), Tajudeen Adedayo Lawal (Education), and Odunbamise Jonathan.

According to sources, their invitation followed a petition by Ganiyu Olamiji Oyebanjo, the Special Adviser on Boundary Matters for the council, who accused Ogunlewe and his aides of corruption, contract inflation, and self-enrichment.

Oyebanjo, despite being an executive member of the council, confirmed that he submitted the petition on October 23, 2024, backed by classified local government documents.

“The ICPC has invited and grilled key officials, but many executive committee members have yet to honor their summons. Meanwhile, the chairman is allegedly making moves to obstruct the investigation and silence potential witnesses with hefty bribes,” Oyebanjo revealed.

Calls to Ogunlewe for comments were unanswered at the time of filing this report.
