I Am Contesting As PDP National Chairman – Oyinlola

Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, a former governor of Osun State, chieftain, and former National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed interest in becoming the party’s National Chairman.

Oyinlola also claimed that his candidacy would be contingent on two factors: whether the position is zoned to the South West and his ability to rally the party’s stakeholders.

On Wednesday, during a radio current affairs program in Osogbo to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the creation of Osun State, Oyinlola revealed that he is better prepared to serve as PDP National Chairman because he has a decade of experience in governance as both the military administrator of Lagos State and the third civilian governor of Osun State.

While praising his accomplishments in office, he criticized those who used his 2014 defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to target him of being cheap blackmailers.

He left the PDP, he claims, because the party forced him out by orchestrating his expulsion.

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan wants to run for a second term in 2015, he stated, therefore a plan was devised.

According to the former Commander of the Nigerian military mission in Somalia, only capacity, capability, and honesty counted in such roles.

He went on to say that his records backed him up because he had served in two Nigerian states without being found wanting.
