Gunmen kill 6, injure 8 in Kaduna community
About six persons have been reportedly killed and eight others injured by unknown gunmen who attacked Sabon Sara Village in Kidandan of Giwa local government area of Kaduna state.
Report has it that the gunmen stormed the village at about 1.30am in the early hours of Saturday in their efforts to kidnap one Alhaji Na Sidi, a seasoned farmer in the village, according to a source who pleaded for anonymity.
He said the gunmen were many but in an attempt to kidnap one of Alhaji Na Sidi’s wives, they were surrounded by the villagers who were able to retrieve her from the gunmen.
The source said he suspected the gunmen to be Fulani guardsmen, who in an attempt to escape opened fire leading to the killing of six persons on the spot and leaving eight persons with gun shots.
The source said that those injured were taken to Kauran Wali Clinic at Zaria for treatment.
The source further explained that the five persons have been buried according to Islamic rites in the presence of Giwa local government Chairman, Engr Abubakar Shehu Lawal Giwa and the council secretary, Usman Ismail.

Those that lost their lives were Ibrahim Bakanike, Lawal S/Pawa, Lawal Belo, Tukur Bilyaminu Kafinta and Ummaru Abdullahi Mai Rake while one Fatima Ahmad died as a result of high blood pressure.
Those with gun shots injuries were Mal. Abdullahi Umar, Aminu Ya’u, Rabilu Isa, Salisu Usman, Sabi’u Ya’u, Muhammad Musa, Ibrahim Sani, Mal. Sani Ahmad Buzu, while Yahuza Tukur was hospitalized because of high blood pressure.
When contacted on his mobile phone, the council secretary, Usman Ismail, confirmed the incident and appealed to the communities to remain calm and pray for Allah’s forgiveness to those that lost their lives and also pray for quick recovery to those that sustained injuries.
