Buhari Orders Probe Into Killing Of Imo State Traditional Ruler, Two Guests By Gunmen
The murder of Eze Ignitus Asor, the traditional ruler of the Obudi Agwa community in Imo State’s Oguta Council Area, has been the subject of a comprehensive investigation by security and law enforcement agencies, according to President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to SaharaReporters, there was unrest in the Obudi, Agwa community after gunmen attacked it and assassinated the community’s traditional leader, Eze Ignatius Asor.
Two other guests of the monarch were also killed by the gunmen.
Community sources had previously told SaharaReporters that the thugs who attacked the palace on Monday morning did so on motorcycles and in cars.
The president urged the “security agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice” in a statement released by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, on Tuesday.
He condemned the killings and expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and the people of the community.

A resident of the community, Mr Marcel Obi, who confirmed the attack to SaharaReporters on Monday, had described the death of the royal father as a big loss to the entire Agwa community.
He had said, “He was such a good man; he has helped to curb the incessant insecurity situation we have been experiencing in this our community; it’s a pity he is gone.”
Also confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relation Officer, Mike Abattam, had said the police are already on the trail of the hoodlums with the clues in possession.
“Yes, it’s true but the police is already investigating the matter, we have clues already and we are on their trail,” he said.
