While men slept, in the wee hours of Monday, our team of eminent young political scientists and investigative journalists intercepted intels from highly impeccable sources in Abuja, indicating that several Northern elites were pissed at the former Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for mischievously planting the Atiku/Amaechi African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential ticket propaganda in the media last Friday, as published by Guardian Newspapers, owned by a powerful family from the South South, a region where Amaechi hails from.
As of the time of this report, our highly placed sources who pleaded anonymity because of the political sensitivity of this matter disclosed that the David Mark-led leadership of the main opposition ADC had only formed a high-powered 12-man Committee comprising of two members from each of the six geo-political zones to advise the party on the best man to field as Vice Presidential candidate going into the January 16, 2027 presidential election.
“The Committee has not yet concluded with its field work and is yet to file its report to the party’s leadership led by Distinguished Senator David Mark. So, we are shocked to see the Guardian Newspapers owned by the Ibru Family publish a story last Friday (June 12), that Atiku has picked Amaechi as Vice President nominee,” queried an ADC chieftain from the North West.
Another, ADC chieftain from the North East who is very close to His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, and has his ears, disclosed that Nigerians should jettison the Atiku/Amaechi ticket as a propaganda planted by Amaechi in the media, a story first published by Guardian Newspapers on Friday, June 12, 2026.
According to the elderstatesman, “If you want to know that the story was planted, ask yourself, has His Excellency Atiku Abubakar released any statement regarding this nomination or ticket? Has the leadership of our great party through the National Publicity Secretary issued any statement about Amaechi’s nomination as Vice President? Please, jettison the planted story. No decision has been made yet by the 12-man Committee set up to look into this matter critically.”
It must be recalled that Amaechi had in several interviews leading into the highly competitive and novel direct presidential primaries of the ADC vowed never ever to be Vice Presidential candidate to His Excellency Atiku Abubakar. Our sources from the North opined that it smirks of hypocrisy for the same man to begin to plant propaganda stories in the media and paying ego-tripping machines and astro-turfers on X (formerly Twitter) to push the same ticket he loathed.
