BREAKING: Another gubernatorial candidate is dead
Alhaji Aliyu Maina, the National Rescue Movement’s candidate for governor of Adamawa State in the 2023 elections, has passed away.
His passing occurs after that of Prof. Uchenna Ikonne, the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate in Abia State.
Ikonne and Maina both passed away on January 25, 2023.
Olusola Afuye, the NRM’s national publicity secretary, confirmed the candidate’s passing.
According to a statement from the family, Maina passed away after a brief illness at his home in the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja.
He was buried according to Muslim custom, Afuye continued.
