Bandits: Police Ask Christians To Pray For Peace In Zamfara

The Zamfara police command wished the Christian community a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and urged them to pray for peace in Nigeria.

Additionally, the police advised Zamfara’s Christians to use the time to pray for the state’s stability.

The decision was announced by police commissioner Kolo Yusuf in a statement released on Monday by Muhammad Shehu, the command’s spokesman.

Mr. Yusuf advised Christians to take advantage of the time to pray particularly for long-term peace, stability, and development in Zamfara and Nigeria.

He claims that security procedures are in place before, during, and after the Christmas and New Year’s events to protect people and property.

“Massive deployment of the police personnel and other security agencies to all Churches, recreational centres and other vulnerable places have been made to ensure peaceful celebrations in the state,” said the statement.

It added, “The CP personally embarked on a confidence-building patrol of major highways In the state, especially from Gusau-Mafara-Sokoto road. The patrol is aimed at ensuring the safety and security of commuters and other road users.”

The commissioner charged the command’s area, tactical commanders, and divisional officers to adopt the same strategy.
