Yoruba Monarchs, Elders Must Talk To Buhari On Igboho’s Release — Oluwo Of Iwo
Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwoland, has urged Yoruba monarchs, elders, and stakeholders to contact President Muhammadu Buhari on the need to release Sunday Adeyemo, alias Sunday Igboho, the besieged Yoruba nation agitator.
Oba Akanbi also remarked in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Sunday by Alli Ibraheem, his Chief Press Secretary, that the release of Sunday Igboho will go a long way in building Nigeria’s unity.
Oluwo, who urged Yoruba monarchs to align their interests in support of Igboho’s release, based his argument on Nigeria’s unity.
He went on to say that the release of Sunday Igboho and Nnamdi Kanu might further strengthen the country’s unity.
The monarch urged President Buhari to honor Yoruba kings and stakeholders, implying that such a gesture would help persuade Yorubas living abroad to support Nigeria’s unity.
He encouraged the Federal Government to communicate with the Benin Republic on a bilateral basis as soon as possible to ensure that Igboho is safely repatriated to Nigeria without having to face a trial.

While urging Nigerians to continuously demonstrate love, maturity, and loyalty capable of upholding the country’s unity, he stated that such deeds will attract more Yoruba patriots.
Remember that last week, a team from Eastern Nigeria met with President Muhammadu Buhari and urged him to make Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, a top priority.
During the discussion, the President informed the delegation that, while he would examine their request, it would be difficult to fulfill.
