We’re Winning Fight Against Insecurity In Imo — Uzodinma
Senator Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo State, has assured citizens that his administration is winning the war on insecurity.
The governor, who advised Imolites in the Diaspora to avoid propaganda and false social media reports about the state’s security situation, stated the state is actually safe.
He also stated that his administration would continue to safeguard and defend the state’s inhabitants, particularly during the holiday season.
Declan Emelumba, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, announced this during the grand finale of the 2021 Press Week, which was hosted in the council’s new office in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
The governor praised Imo journalists for their contributions to the administration’s repair, recovery, and rehabilitation efforts.
He urged journalists in the state to always follow the journalism profession’s ethics in their reporting, and to be aware of social media blackmailers.

In his opening speech, Chief Chris Akaraonye, state chairman of the NUJ, Imo chapter, praised members of the 2021 press week planning committee for the arrangements that made the ceremony a success.
The issue, “Media Participation In Security & Economic Development,” was regarded by Akaraonye as relevant, especially given Imo’s security challenges, and he praised the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Rabiu Hussain for dedicating his time to the matter.
Dr. (Mrs) Dorothy Okafor-Nnaji, chairman of the Imo NUJ 2021 Press Week Organizing Committee, praised the Governor for his favorable attitude toward the state’s media sector in her vote of gratitude.
Recall that the 2021 Imo State Nigeria Union of Journalists Press Week, which began on Monday, December 13th and ended with a Thanksgiving Mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church Aladinma, with the theme: Media Participation in Security and Economic Development.
