US Extradition: Abba Kyari To Know Fate June 14
The Federal High Court’s Abuja Division postponed hearing on a complaint seeking to prevent the Federal Government from extraditing suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari to the United States of America for trial until June 14.
The Nigeria Police Force and Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, are named as defendants in the FHC/ABJ/CS/854/2021 complaint.
Following the absence of all parties in court on Monday, Justice Donatus Okorowo delayed the case.
Neither the applicant nor the respondents were in court when the case was called for a hearing. In addition, none of the parties had legal representation. As a result, Justice Okorowo, who had threatened to dismiss the case for lack of diligence, indicated he was willing to grant another adjournment.
He ordered that all parties be served with a hearing notice.
Kyari, who is currently on trial for suspected drug trafficking, was previously indicted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in a multi-million naira advanced fee fraud allegedly carried out by Ramon Abbas, also known as Hushpuppi.
