UK Police Reveals Why Nigerian-Born Footballer Was Shot Dead
Police in the United Kingdom have revealed why Odichukumma Kelvin Igweani, a Nigerian-born footballer, was shot and killed.
Igweani, a Nigerian footballer, was shot dead by officers responding to a call to a house where a youngster was found with critical injuries, according to NEWS DIRECT.
Following the news, the Federal Government issued a statement condemning Igweani’s death and urging the UK government to conduct a full and complete inquiry into the situation.
However, the police allege that the 24-year-old Nigerian held a youngster captive, according to the Daily Mail, which published an update on the incident on Monday.
Richard Woodcock, a 38-year-old council roads worker, was slain by the player after hearing screams during a domestic fight at the first-floor house, according to authorities.

“A Taser was discharged but this was ineffective, and Igweani barricaded himself within the main bedroom while a child could be heard crying. Entry was finally gained into the bedroom at which point a police firearm was discharged.”
