Twist: Shettima Questions Tinubu’s Actions, Reveals He Has Changed

Alhaji Shettima has questioned the actions of President Bola Tinubu since he assumed power.

Shettima Yerima, the National Leader of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, aired his reservations about President Tinubu’s recent actions, stating that the pro-democracy activist he once knew seems different from the current occupant of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Yerima, who previously worked alongside Tinubu during the struggle against the military junta, expressed concerns about the President’s policies and appointments, particularly those that overlook the youth in favor of older individuals.

In an interview with Arewa PUNCH, Yerima voiced his doubts, questioning whether President Tinubu has been influenced or hijacked by the same individuals who manipulated the previous regime. He emphasized the importance of Tinubu remaining true to his original ideals and not allowing himself to be swayed by those who might hinder progress.

Yerima also urged President Tinubu to learn from former President Muhammadu Buhari’s experiences, highlighting the need to surround oneself with individuals who genuinely support the country’s progress, rather than those who may hinder it. He emphasized the importance of upholding the positive legacy of the government, which he referred to as “our government,” a product of their collective struggle during their activist days.
