Saraki Reacts As Obasanjo Gets New Appointment

Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, the immediate past Senate President, has congratulated former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on his recent appointment as the African Union’s High Representative for the Horn of Africa.

Obasanjo’s appointment, Saraki said in a statement released by his media office, was a testimonial to his “deep experience and vast network across the continent and the world.”

Obasanjo’s appointment, he said, will make Nigeria proud.

Part of the statement read: “I congratulate H.E. President Olusegun Obasanjo on the appointment as the African Union (AU) High Representative for the Horn of Africa.

“As the AU continues to work to promote peace and stability in and amongst its Member States, President Obasanjo’s profound experience and widespread network across the continent and the world will undoubtedly help to meet these objectives.”

Saraki wished Obasanjo success as he begins his strategic assignment on behalf of the continent.
