Sanwo-Olu’s Tax And Revenue Adviser Charges MDAs On Revenue Process Automation
The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Taxation and Revenue, Mr. Opeyemi Ogungbo, has tasked non tax revenue generating ministries, departments, and agencies to continue to support the end to end automation drive of their revenue processes and to always strive towards achieving the 2024 state revenue budget.
The Special Adviser gave the charge at a review session of “Project Zeal” held for non tax revenue generating ministries, departments, and agencies which had in attendance the leadership of the MDAs and Some executive members of Lagos State Government
Project Zeal, which is designed to review and optimize the Lagos State revenue processes, is handled by O&M Consultants. The review session was to appraise the progress made, milestones achieved and the impact on the state generated revenue vis-a-vis the target
The objective of the project is to automate the state revenue processes with the end goal of achieving ease of payment for tax payers and significantly grow the state revenue.

At the Project Zeal review session in Lagos, Ogungbo urged the non-tax generating MDAs not to relent in supporting the end to end automation drive of the state government. He told them to always strive towards achieving and surpassing the 2024 state revenue budget.
According to the special Adviser, Taxation and Revenue, the project review exercise is continuous, as PROJECT ZEAL is designed to achieve end to end automation for the State revenue processes, enhance the self service system for Lagos payers, promote ease of doing businesses and ultimately widen the state revenue base.
On their part, the leadership of the non-tax revenue generating MDAs re-emphasized and expressed their commitment to support the goal of achieving full automation for their revenue processes and to meet the 2024 revenue target.
The MDAs in attendance included Lagos State Physical Planning Permit, Lands Bureau, Motor Vehicle Administration Agency, Vehicle inspection Services, and Lagos State Fire Service.
Others were Lagos State Examination Board, State Treasury Office , Lagos State environmental protection Agency, and others.
The O&M Consultants is partnering with office of special Adviser, Taxation and Revenue, to deliver project zeal with focus on the following objectives; eliminate silosing, full adoption of harmonized billing, operationalized centralized payment, promote self service to support the state government ease of doing business goal.
