Mrs Remi Tinubu, assumed office as the first lady of Nigeria yesterday, June 5, at Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The former Senator assumed office with some of her aides while meeting with members of staff under her new office.

Oluremi Tinubu CON OON (born 21 September 1960) is a Nigerian politician who is the current first lady of Nigeria. She also served as the first lady of Lagos State as wife of former Lagos governor, and current president of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, from 1999 to 2007. Before her recent position, Mrs Tinubu had served as a Senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District at the Nigerian National Assembly. She is also a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) political party.
