Ogun: Man Arrested While Robbing At Gunpoint

The police detained one Isikilu Moses as he was reportedly committing a robbery in Joju, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Moses was apprehended in the early hours of Friday, April 8, 2022, after police officers at Sango divisional headquarters received a distress call.

Armed thieves had stormed Adebeshin street, off Joju road, Sango-Ota, and were robbing residents of their property at gunpoint, according to the police.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, an Ogun police image maker, claimed on Sunday that the DPO of Sango division, SP Saleh Dahiru, had quickly dispatched his patrol squad to the scene after receiving the information.

“The hoodlums took to their heels, but they were aggressively pursued,” Oyeyemi said after seeing the cops, adding that only Moses was captured.

He added the guy was found with one locally made firearm and two cellphones that belonged to the victims.

The Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, has directed that the suspect be transferred to the state CIID, while fleeing members of the gang should be fished out and brought to justice, according to a police spokesperson.
