Notorious Gang Members Who Murdered Policeman In Viral Video Land In Trouble

The Borno State Police Command has announced the arraignment of seven individuals suspected to be involved in the killing of a police officer in Maiduguri. The victim, Babagana Mala, a constable attached to the CRACK unit of the command, was fatally assaulted by a notorious gang of criminals on July 23.

Borno State Commissioner of Police, Yusuf Mohammad Lawan, revealed during a press conference in Maiduguri that the suspects were arrested, thoroughly investigated, and subsequently brought before the court. Lawan credited the identification and apprehension of the suspects to a video clip of the incident recorded by a compassionate bystander. He emphasized the importance of community cooperation, stating, “We have good Samaritans who recorded the incident when the constable was being assaulted. It’s the video we used to identify, locate, and arrest a significant number of individuals, all of whom have been charged in court.”

The Commissioner of Police confirmed that the primary suspect, along with six others, including a woman, are currently facing legal proceedings. He highlighted the gravity of the crime, categorizing it as a capital offense and stating that it had undergone legal evaluation, making it subject to trial in the high court.
