No Abducted Female Bethel Baptist High School Student Was Killed – Rev. Hayab
The Kaduna State Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has denied that bandits killed three of Bethel Baptist High School’s abducted female students.
According to Rev. John Joseph Hayab, State Chairman of CAN, all of the kidnapped students are safe, despite reports of molestation and murder.
He further stated that, contrary to popular belief, the parents and other stakeholders are in constant contact with the kidnappers, who have assured them that all of the pupils in their possession are fine.
Rev. Hayab categorically rejected any type of rape or killing of any student by the kidnappers, calling the phony story “sad” and questioning why someone would manufacture such things.
According to the CAN state chairman, “There is nothing like that. We are in contact with the bandits. The girls are doing fine, and none has been killed so far. If it is a wish, we pray that wish will never come true.”
He stated that talks between parents, stakeholders, and the bandits on the ransom to be paid for the release of the remaining 120 pupils are already underway.

The Chairman added that the current problem they face is the demands made by the robbers, emphasizing that the ransom is exorbitant, but that negotiations are ongoing.
“Apart from the food supplies we supplied and handed the robbers for the sustenance of the children,” Rev. Hayab added, they have not paid a single kobo in ransom.
He pleaded with the kidnappers to have mercy on the pupils and their parents, reminding them that the parents are impoverished, with some of them unemployed and unable to fulfill the demands of paying school fees.
