Nigerian, Cameroonian Troops Eliminate Boko Haram-ISWAP Fighters As IED Kills Others

Four Boko Haram/ISWAP members have been killed by Nigerian forces from the Joint Task Force, North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) and Cameroonian Defense Force.

The fight took place on Monday at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Borno State’s Wulgo area.

The soldiers stopped an attempted attack on the military base, according to Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director Army Public Relations.

The spokesman stated they returned superior fire and were aided by reinforcements from Battalion Headquarters in a statement.

After the terrorists retreated, troops pursued them and killed three of them.

Three AK 47 rifles, six magazines, and 50 7.62mm special bullets were found.

On the same day, four rebels met their demise near the 151 Battalion.

“The terrorists were burnt beyond recognition, as their truck mounted with Anti Aircraft Guns ran over an Improvised Explosive Device (IED)”, Nwachukwu added.

Troops are conducting further exploitation of the general area to clear surviving terrorists.
