Katsina Lawmakers Weep At Plenary For Buhari Government Over Rising Insecurities
At a plenary on Monday, Katsina State House of Assembly lawmakers shed tears for President Muhammadu Buhari’s government as they discussed the degradation of security under the current regime.
Buhari’s native state of Katsina is under constant bandit attacks, according to the governor, who stated at a recent press conference.
The lawmakers, in particular, wept openly as the parliament debated the insecurity that afflicts many of the state’s local government regions.
At the plenary presided over by the Speaker, Tasi’u Maigari, the Deputy Speaker of the assembly, Shehu Dalhatu-Tafoki, had tabled a resolution of urgent public significance regarding the state of insecurity in Katsina.
Despite the efforts of the federal government, state governments, and security services, instability in Katsina is worsening by the day, according to Dalhatu-Tafoki (All Progressives Congress, Faskari).
As a result, he urged the government and security forces to rethink their strategy for eradicating bandits in Katsina.

Insecurity in Katsina has intensified, according to Dalhatu-Tafoki, with more people being slain every day.
“There is a serious need for the security outfits in the state to increase their outposts across the state, especially the most insecurity affected areas,” said Dalhatu-Tafoki.
“The outposts in those areas are not enough. They cannot overpower the bandits, despite the huge amounts of money being spent on them.”
He also urged the population to keep praying for the restoration of peace in Katsina.
Haruna Goma (APC Dandume), who represents the Dandume constituency, stated no fewer than 11 people were killed in two Dandume settlements recently, and many more were abducted.
According to the Nigerian News Agency, the lawmaker broke down in tears while recounting the incident, pleading with the government to save them and their towns before they are slaughtered.

He urged the government to reassess its security spending because there had been no improvement.
