JUST IN: Uzodinma Faces Disqualification Move Hours To Imo Election

Governor Hope Uzodinma is facing a disqualification move hours to the Imo State guber election.

This development emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urgently sent a message to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to disqualify Governor Uzodimma and the All Progressives Congress (APC) just 24 hours ahead of the Imo governorship election. The party alleges the involvement of the APC and Governor Uzodimma in creating and disseminating a fabricated video aimed at disparaging its Imo state governorship candidate, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.

In an official statement by the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the party condemns the video as barbaric and shameful, accusing Governor Uzodimma of resorting to deceitful tactics to mislead the people of Imo. The PDP contends that the fake video signifies Governor Uzodimma’s apprehension about Senator Anyanwu’s popularity, prompting him to employ underhanded methods to undermine the candidate’s electoral chances.

The party applauds the swift response of TVC’s management, misrepresented in the fake video, for promptly disavowing and condemning the fraudulent use of its identity. Despite the controversy, the PDP reaffirms Senator Anyanwu’s participation in the governorship race, urging the people of Imo to dismiss the video as entirely false.

The PDP further calls on INEC to disqualify the APC and Governor Uzodimma, asserting that their alleged involvement in producing and circulating the fake video constitutes a severe violation of electoral laws and criminal codes.
