JUST IN: Tinubu, Gov Oborevwori Hold Crucial Meeting As Army Talks Tough After Delta Killings

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has provided President Bola Tinubu with an update on the recent tragic events resulting in the loss of 17 soldiers in Okuoma community, Ughelli South council area of the state.

After the meeting with President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori addressed journalists at the State House, assuring that the situation had been brought under control. He pledged that the perpetrators of the brutal attack on the Nigerian Army personnel would be identified and brought to justice.

Furthermore, Governor Oborevwori emphasized that measures would be taken to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. He also affirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that innocent individuals are not punished for the actions of criminal elements.

Regarding casualty figures, the Governor refrained from disclosing details, citing security reasons. He mentioned having met with security officials in Bomadi on Monday but noted difficulties in engaging with the affected community due to its deserted nature following the incident.

Meanwhile tension is on the rise in Okuama community here the soldiers were killed last Thursday as the Nigerian Army talks tough. The Army gave a directive to the Okuama community to identify the killers of the soldiers.

The army also vowed that there would be serious consequences stating that those behind the killings must not go unpunished. It expressed outrage that soldiers who put their lives at stake to protect the people would be killed by the same civilians they labour hard to guard.
