JUST IN: Oshiomhole Speaks After Shaibu Dumped PDP, Returned To APC

Senator Adams Oshiomhole has responded to Philip Shaibu’s return to the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressing uncertainty about Shaibu’s loyalty.

Shaibu, who is a political ally of Oshiomhole and a former Deputy Governor of Edo State, had previously left the APC to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following a fallout related to Governor Godwin Obaseki’s re-election.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Oshiomhole acknowledged that such political maneuvering is not unusual. He stated, “Well, that’s a theoretical question. Time will tell,” when asked about Shaibu’s loyalty.

Oshiomhole also noted that while Shaibu had made mistakes, the decision to join or rejoin a political party is ultimately a personal choice. “Whatever you have done wrong, the day you realize that you have done wrong, and you have the courage to own up to your poor judgement or actions that were undemocratic, it is still better,” he added.

He emphasized that political party membership is a voluntary association regulated by party and national laws, and thus, he does not view Shaibu’s return as a major concern.
