JUST IN: Edo: Abure Working For PDP Against LP, Insider Reveals
The National Treasurer of the Labour Party, Oluchi Opara, has leveled accusations against the party’s chairman, Julius Abure, alleging an alliance with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government in Edo State.
Opara raised concerns about the accountability of approximately N3.5 billion in party funds during a demand made on Monday. She claimed these funds originated from the sale of forms and other fundraising activities for the 2023 general elections.
Speaking on Arise TV’s “Good Morning Show” on Tuesday, Opara asserted, “Let him come out here and say that he has not been in talks with the government of Edo State.”
She also revealed an alarming discovery regarding the late former chairman’s signature, stating, “I raised the issue of money laundering, misappropriation and a whole lot of embezzlement that happened. I also stated the fact that the signature of the late national chairman of our party, Salami, was forged two months after his death to withdraw money from the account.”
Opara challenged the National Chairman to refute her claims, stating, “So if the national chairman feels I’m lying, let him come out clear and say that I have lied against him.”
Responding to Opara’s allegations, the Labour Party dismissed her claims as baseless and malicious, attributing them to external influences.
