JUST IN: Bishop Kukah Reacts To Wike, Fubara’s Fight In Rivers
The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Matthew Kukah, has cautioned Nigerians to approach the current political turmoil in Rivers State with care.
Governor Siminalayi Fubara and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike have been engaged in a heated fight over the control of the political structures in Rivers State. The clash also involved their allies who have also taken sides.
Speaking on Wednesday after meeting President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja, Kukah expressed optimism that the ongoing crisis would soon be resolved.
In response to recent developments, including the resignation of about five commissioners loyal to Minister Nyesom Wike, Kukah advised Nigerians not to be overly alarmed. He emphasized that politicians possess the ability to resolve their conflicts.
“This is politics, and often, we, the ordinary people, become more concerned than those directly involved,” Kukah remarked. “The crucial thing is that politicians usually find ways to address their challenges.”
“Rivers State holds significant importance to me due to my longstanding association with the region,” he continued.
