Valentine Ozigbo, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) governorship candidate for the November 6 governorship election in Anambra, has been pronounced lawfully elected by the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal.
The President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban- Mensem, who presided over a three-member panel of justices, ruled that Mr Ozigbo’s appeal against the Akwa High Court’s decision had merit.
The judgement of the State High Court’s Akwa Division was set aside and declared null and void by the appeal court.
It also awarded Ozigbo a sum of N10 million in exceptional costs.
Mr Ozigbo was prevented from running as a PDP candidate in the Anambra governorship election on November 6 following an Awka high court ruling.
