Hajj Scam: EFCC Detains Medview Airline Managing Director, Bankole
Mr Muneer Bankole, the Managing Director of Medview Airline, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
He was reportedly apprehended this afternoon at the EFCC’s offices in Jabi, Abuja.
Bankole, who arrived at the EFCC complex at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 31, 2022, was summoned by the anti-graft agency over an alleged diversion of 50% of funds paid to him by the National Hajj Commission, as well as an additional $900,000 for the airlift of pilgrims in 2019, according to a source familiar with the case.
He allegedly received the payments as part of a mobilization package but failed to complete the job.
Wilson Uwujaren, a spokesman for the EFCC, confirmed the arrest when contacted.
