EXPOSED: Top APC officials enmeshed in 1.4 billion road scandal

The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has alleged some elected and appointed public officers of N1.4bn contract scam.

Those accused are said to be members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He stated this during the inauguration of 24.5 kilometres Itas -Gadau Road construction project on Thursday.

The officials were said to have fraudulently got the money for the construction of a major road in the state.

The governor said he  had already petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission on the matter.

He said that the N1.4bn was collected for the construction of the Soro-Miya road project but no work had been done.

“We have come and we have discovered that we have a lot of challenges, the Central Zone of Bauchi State have been short-changed over the years by successive administrations.”

“The only road traversing the Central Zone is the one are going to other places. We are doing three roads within the first tenure.

“The Miya road has been encumbered by corruption; some people who are calling themselves leaders have collected the money, but we are not here to waste our time opening cardboards and looking for skeletons.

“We are calling on the EFCC and ICPC to make sure that they investigate what we have forwarded to them on Soro-Miya Road because over N1.4bn has been collected.”
