Ex-Military Leader, Abdulsalami Abubakar Reveals Why Biafra, Yoruba Nation Won’t Succeed

Abdulsalami Abubakar, a former military commander, has revealed why those pushing for succession will fail.

According to Abubakar, inter-ethnic interactions and marriages among Nigerians would make succession difficult.

On Thursday, he spoke at the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) Legacy Dialogue 2021.

Former Nigerian ruler advised Nigerians to appreciate their variety while working to maintain unity.

“Even if you break Nigeria now, what are you going to do? When everybody, every Nigerian, anywhere you go in the village, you will find a Hausa man, a Yoruba man, an Igbo man, Itsekiri and so on and so forth.

“So, when you say you divide, where do you draw the line with the inter-marriages and so on and so forth? It is going to be difficult.

“He advised Nigerians that all hands should be on deck to address the menace, calling on Nigerians to expose perpetrators of insecurity.

“So, let us expose them to the authorities and let us put our hands on deck to tackle the security challenges.”

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba nation agitator, have been at the forefront of the recent agitation for succession.

Igboho agitated for Yoruba nation while Kanu pushed for Biafra’s realization.

Both agitators, however, are currently being held by security agents in Nigeria and Benin Republic.
