Ex-Lagos Gov Akinwunmi Ambode Breaks Jinx, Makes Remarkable Return to Frontline Politics

Akinwunmi Ambode, the former governor of Lagos state, has made a remarkable return to frontline politics.

He broke the jinx on Thursday after meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Lagos. The meeting took place at a reception organized by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in honor of Tinubu.

This marked the first time Ambode visited Sanwo-Olu at the state house since he left office over four years ago.

Tinubu acknowledged Ambode’s presence at the event and expressed his gladness to see him.

The event was held to welcome Tinubu, who was visiting the state for the first time as the President of Nigeria.

There were speculations of a strained relationship between Sanwo-Olu and Ambode due to the controversial manner in which Ambode was displaced as governor.

However, recent visits and exchanges of pleasantries between the two suggest a possible reconciliation.

The grand reception had several prominent personalities in attendance, including Deputy Governor Dr. Femi Hamzat, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and business magnate Aliko Dangote.

President Tinubu emphasized the need for governors across party lines to work with his administration at the federal level to make Nigeria work again for the future of the country.

He expressed gratitude for the support and trust given to him before, during, and after the elections and highlighted the importance of re-engineering the economy and practicing true federalism.

Tinubu assured the governors that they would work together to save Nigeria from economic challenges and make the country prosperous for the sake of future generations.
