Etsako Youth Movement Condemns Alleged APC, INEC Collusion to Manipulate Edo Election Tribunal Outcome
The Etsako Youth Movement has condemned what it describes as a deliberate and calculated plot by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and certain officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to tamper with the results of the recently concluded Edo State governorship election.
The group expressed outrage following a media report revealing that a team of hackers arrived in Abuja and were allegedly hired to alter the results uploaded to INEC’s result viewing portal (IREV) in favour of the APC candidate.
In its statement signed by its convener, Johnson Umoru, the Etsako Youth Movement condemned this act as a “treacherous and despicable assault on the will of the Edo people.”
The group stated that such actions undermine the democratic integrity of Nigeria and called for urgent action from the relevant authorities.
“The Edo people turned out in good faith to elect their leader, and now we are faced with allegations of APC operatives, aided by INEC officials, attempting to thwart this democratic process through illegal means.
“This is a deliberate violation of the rights of Edo citizens, and it will not stand,” the group stated.

The group further questioned the role of INEC in the alleged plot, accusing the electoral body of failing to remain neutral and independent.
“INEC was established to safeguard democracy, yet it is now being used as a tool for the very forces that seek to destroy it,” the group said.
The Etsako Youth Movement demanded a full investigation into the allegations and urged international election observers to take immediate notice of what it described as a “brazen attempt to undermine Nigeria’s democracy.”
In a show of solidarity with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo, the group vowed to pursue every legal means to protect the democratic rights of Edo citizens.
“We will resist any attempt to subvert the will of the people of Edo State. The world is watching, and we will ensure that those responsible for this conspiracy are held accountable,” the youth movement declared.
The group also issued a stern warning to the judiciary and security agencies, calling on them to uphold the rule of law and ensure transparency in the electoral process.
The Etsako Youth Movement reiterated its commitment to ensuring that the voices of Edo citizens are not silenced by political machinations and warned that any attempt to manipulate the election outcome could provoke widespread unrest.
“The Federal Government, INEC, and the APC must understand that any attempt to manipulate the Edo election will be resisted, and it could ignite a political crisis if not checked,” the statement concluded.
