Emirate Tussle: Bayero Sends Powerful Message To Top Leaders In Kano After Court Session
Aminu Ado Bayero, the 15th Emir of Kano who was recently dethroned by the state government, has sent a crucial message to key leaders in Kano State.
Bayero and Emir Muhammad Sanusi are engaged in a serious tussle over who is the rightful occupant of the throne of Emir of Kano, but Sanusi has the full backing of the Kano State Government led by Governor Abba Yusuf.
In his latest message, Bayero invited district heads to participate in the traditional durbar event held in celebration of Sallah. This announcement was made in a circular signed by Abbas Sanusi, the Galadiman Kano and a senior councilor of the emirate, on Tuesday.
The circular, dated June 10, 2024, instructed all district heads to bring their village heads, horse riders, and praise singers for the festivities. It stated, “We are directing all the district heads of the emirate to come along with their village heads, horse riders, and praise singers for the festivities.”
The directive continued, “All district heads are to converge at Aminu Ado Bayero’s palace at Gidan Nassarawa on Saturday, Zhulhijjah 9, 1445 equivalent to June 15 at 11 am for further instructions. Compliance is expected without delay or insubordination.”
Additionally, the circular mentioned that after the court’s session on the event day, the emir would hold a meeting with all the district heads in the palace’s hall at Gidan Nassarawa to provide details on the durbar activities.
