Drama As Fubara Fumes Over Disappointment By PDP, Reveals What He Will Do

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has voiced his disappointment with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), claiming that the party has let him and his supporters down in the state.

This declaration was made during a meeting with the Senate Committee on Privatisation led by Senator Orji Kalu at the government house in Port Harcourt.

Among the committee members was Senator Abba Moro, a former Minister of Interior, whom Governor Fubara acknowledged as a leader within his party, the PDP. The Governor jokingly told the Benue lawmaker, that he would not adhere to party protocols, noting that the party had let the state down. He stated that he and his supporters are now operating as a movement to defend democracy rather than as members of a political party. Moreover, the Governor highlighted the political crisis in the state.

The Governor’s stance comes in the wake of a security incident wherein an individual attempted to detonate an explosive at the Presidential Hotel in Port Harcourt. Governor Fubara suggested that this incident was orchestrated to justify the imposition of a state of emergency in the state.

He expressed concerns about the apparent silence of the law in addressing offenders and emphasized his commitment to defending the state against predators.
