Buhari Asked To Dialogue With Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB
The World Igbo Peoples Assembly (WIPAS), a sociopolitical organization, has encouraged President Muhammadu Buhari’s government to hold talks with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the arrested leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to defuse tensions and agitations in the east.
The group stated in a statement released on Monday by its Director of Media and Publicity, Chinonyerem Dick, that the spirit of Biafra has refused to vanish because of the President’s and some Nigerian leaders’ handling of the subject.
WIPAS believes that if the federal government talks to Kanu and IPOB, they can find a common ground.
The Igbo organization lamented the structural marginalization of ndigbo, which manifests in the number of states and local governments in the country.

Meanwhile, the Coalition of Civil Society Organizations of Nigeria (COCSON) has attacked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), accusing it of being a den of corruption.
