Buhari Agreed To Handover Power To Tinubu In 2023 — Former CPC Chairman, Hanga
Rufai Hanga, the founding National Chairman of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, agreed to hand up power in 2023.
According to Hanga, Buhari’s implied agreement to handover to Tinubu is a “open secret.”
He claimed Tinubu would have left the APC after Buhari’s first term, but chose to stay because of a “implied agreement.”
“This is an open secret. There was an implied agreement. Even in law, there is an implied and expressed act. If something is expressed, there are no two ways about it.
“There was an implied agreement that he would take over. That is why he didn’t back out after the first tenure.
“If Tinubu knew that he would not benefit, he would have backed out during Buhari’s first tenure. But he knows there was an agreement,” Hanga told DAILY Trust.

Buhari was a member of the defunct CPC, which amalgamated with ACN and ANPP to become the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Meanwhile, there are rumors that Tinubu is planning to run for president in 2023.
Despite requests from supporters, the former Lagos State Governor has yet to openly declare his intentions.
Tinubu has denied opening a campaign headquarters in Abuja to this end.
Some states in the federation have seen the APC National Leader’s campaign posters.
Primate Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, had urged Tinubu against seeking the presidency.
Tinubu’s presidency, if he becomes president, would be a tragedy, according to Primate Ayodele.
