BREAKING: Wales Sacks Head Coach
The Football Association of Wales has announced the departure of Rob Page from his role as Head Coach of the men’s National Team.
Page, who initially served as interim manager starting November 2020 and later became permanent in September 2022, guided the team to notable achievements, including reaching the UEFA EURO 2020 finals and securing Cymru’s first FIFA World Cup berth since 1958.
Chief Football Officer Dave Adams commended Page for his accomplishments, highlighting the team’s promotion to League A in the UEFA Nations League and the integration of 18 pathway players into the senior squad.
FAW CEO Noel Mooney and President Steve Williams expressed gratitude for Page’s dedication, acknowledging his role in creating historic moments for Welsh football. The FAW emphasized its commitment to excellence in Welsh football moving forward.
“In his seven-year tenure with the Association, Rob has been instrumental, first as U21 Head Coach and then as Cymru Head Coach,” stated Adams. “His leadership saw us reach the EURO 2020 Round of 16 and qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, integrating numerous young talents into the senior setup.”
Mooney added, “Rob’s tenure brought us many cherished memories and milestones, notably our return to the World Cup after sixty-four years.”
