BREAKING: Soldiers Open Fire On Protesting Staff Of Dangote Sugar Company, 7 Feared Dead
At the Dangote Sugar Company in Gyawana, Adamawa State, owned by Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, seven people have died from their injuries and are believed to be dead.
Soldiers opened fire on the protesters around 5 p.m. today, according to reports from the area, which is about 70 kilometers from Yola, Adamawa State’s capital.
Military were dispatched for the illegal operation, according to a resident of Gyawana, and the sugar company’s management paid soldiers to scare the demonstrators away.
The troops allegedly left their duty position at Numan bridge and arrived for the sugar plant in four Toyota Hilux vans.
