[BREAKING] Osun: Oyetola’s Commissioner, Idiat Babalola Resigns

Idiat Babalola, the Osun State Commissioner for Federal Matters, has resigned from the state government.

The reason for her resignation, according to a source in the Deputy Governor’s office who confirmed the details to NEWS DIRECT, is unknown at this time, but she has submitted her resignation letter.

Babalola was a former Special Adviser on Federal Matters to former Governor Rauf Aregbesola, according to NEWS DIRECT.

In 2017, Babalola was violently assaulted by a mob of angry sympathizers at the funeral of Alhaji Isiaka Adeleke, a former governor of Osun State and a potential candidate for the governorship in the 2018 Osun Gubernatorial Election under the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Her resignation from the Osun State Executive Council had not been declared by the state government as of the time of publication.
