Ike Ekweremadu, the former Deputy Senate President, owns 40 landed properties, which an Abuja Federal High Court ordered to be temporarily forfeited on Friday.

The interim forfeiture order affects 10 of Ekweremadu’s properties in Enugu, 3 in the United States of America (USA), 2 in the United Kingdom (UK), 1 in Lagos, 9 in Dubai, and 15 in the Federal Capital Territory.

Following an ex-parte motion filed and submitted by Ibrahim Buba on behalf of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, the trial judge, Justice Inyang Ekwo, issued the ruling.

Ruling on the motion, the Judge ordered EFCC to publish the interim forfeiture order of the properties in a national daily within seven days from the date the order was given.
