Banditry: Lai Mohammed Alleges Media Bias Against Govt, Troops
On Tuesday, Nigeria’s Information Minister, Lai Mohammed, said that the media in Nigeria reports bandit attacks more than the government and security agencies do.
At a meeting with Governor Aminu Masari and other stakeholders in Katsina, the minister spoke.
The presentations by Masari, the Emir of Katsina, Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, and civil society organizations, he added, confirmed that the steps implemented had reduced banditry dramatically.
Since nations adopted bold actions alongside the military’s aggressive strategy, the tables have turned against criminals, according to Mohammed.
”Unfortunately, these positive efforts have not received the kind of media attention given to banditry,” the minister said.
He emphasized the importance of “positive coverage of the successes” by the media in order to inspire the impacted states, security services, and the federal government.

Mohammed expressed optimism that the military’s new platforms will help to reduce banditry and terrorism in the country.
He went on to say that the inconveniences caused by telecommunications outages could not be compared to the willful devastation of lives and property.
