As China continues to crack down on internet companies, Amazon has deleted Quran and Bible apps from the Apple Store in China.
According to Voice of America, Amazon removed the apps at the request of the Chinese government.
Olive Tree Bible Software, a Christian software company based in the United States, explained that Amazon withdrew their application at the request of the Chinese government.
The move is in line with China’s strict regulatory requirements for internet companies operating in the country.
Chinese authorities have been chastised for a variety of unusual activities, including political repression, censorship, and widespread citizen surveillance.
Microsoft stated on Thursday that LinkedIn’s operations in China would be shut down later this year.

The move was made when Chinese regulators placed onerous regulatory requirements on the professional networking site, according to the US software corporation.
Microsoft claimed it was dealing with a “much more difficult operating environment” and “higher compliance obligations.”
In June, sources linked the demise of Jack Ma’s corporate empire to Chinese government actions and policies.
Mr Ma, the co-founder of Alibaba Group Holding Ltd, had been the subject of a Chinese government crackdown on his e-commerce company and its affiliate Ant group since 2020.
Mr Ma’s corporate empire is now worth half of what it was nine months ago, according to Forbes, after the Chinese government seized over part of his holdings and imposed unfavorable policies and fines.
