2023: Nigeria needs ‘deliverer’, not leader, says Oyedepo
The President of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo has stated the country needs a deliverer that will rescue the nation from the insecurity and economic collapse. Speaking at the Shiloh 2022 event, with the theme Covenant Highways, at the church’s administrative center in Ota, Ogun State, Oyedepo recalled how he had warned Nigerians in 2015 that the nation was on the verge of trauma.
“I warned this nation in 2015 that you are bargaining for trauma without knowing,” he said. “But nobody listened, and now, despite insecurity and economic collapse, the only thing that Nigeria is known for is the church.” Nigeria, he claimed, needed a deliverer, not a leader. “I am not and will never be a politician. I’ve long since abandoned that world.
I have left that realm a long time ago but this land must have rest.
Oyedepo urged his members to pray to God to send Nigeria a deliverer so people could have a rest of mind. “If you love Nigeria, you better pray that God should send us a deliverer and give us rest again. We are long overdue for rest. He (God) sent them a deliverer in Israel and the land had rest for 80 years. We have a big conference going on in Redemption Camp. It’s the Church that is giving Nigeria a face of honour.
